How we got started;
My
wife, Kathy, and I decided that we wanted to
pursue a family oriented restaurant business in
a small town to really get to know the customers
who later became part of our family. The business was
doing fine, and then three plus years ago the
world economy, as you know, became a disaster
for so many people and companies. Mass layoffs,
good hard working people losing their homes and
the elderly losing their retirements. A very sad
time for all of us. I believe Recovery is
happening but much too slowly to help many of
us.
Kathy
and I made a pledge when the troubles with the
economy all started: 1) we would not lower
the quality of the food; 2) we would not reduce
the portions as we knew some of our customers
depended on being able to have two meals out of
one as a way to get
by; 3) we would not raise the prices while so
many people were losing their homes.
So our
family tightened its belt and tried to make it
through these difficult times but the constantly
rising cost of quality food and the cost of
gasoline affected everything. As we watched so
many restaurants close in our town, we tried our
best to stay open because our customers are like
family to us and always will be.
This is America, the land of the free, the land of
opportunity, and the land of dreams come true.
Twenty one years ago I received my American
citizenship. I can remember that day like it was
yesterday, when I stood there among many others,
who like me decided to make this great country
their new home, reciting the Pledge of
Allegiance to the United State of America. I
was never so proud, happy, and simply free.
Americans have had tough times before and have
always bounced back, I'm proud to be an American
and whatever tomorrow brings we will continue to
do the best we can for those in need. We will
miss all of you
Thank
you all very much for the friendship
and patronage throughout the years.
